I don't understand...
Yesterday there was a large group of protesters in Downtown Roanoke, objecting to Tuesday's vote on gay marriage. As you may have heard, the ballot initiative for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage passed. I actually voted against the amendment, and I understand why these people were speaking their mind...What I don't understand is the timing.

The problem I see here is that there wasn't enough of the same kind of outspokenness before election day. You see, if you want something to be changed, or not changed in this case, you have to rally the troops long before the decision is made...Not after.
As I said, I voted against the amendment and am totally against banning gay marriage. It doesn't affect me if Sarah and Tanya want to get married so why should I stop them? But for these people to protest Tuesday, almost 24 hours after we knew the thing was going to pass is way too late. Sorry gals, if you want something done, you've got to get voters on your side before the election.
I just wonder if every one of those people voted. Because if they didn't........
