Holiday Traditions

Every family has traditions that they break out every holiday season. It may be for every member of the family to go to a certain place for Thanksgiving or Christmas, or buying a new Christmas ornament for your children every year. This year I'm starting my own tradition. Pumpkin Beer!

Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale is something I found out about last year. I've loved Blue Moon Wheat Ale for years and when I saw the pumpkin versions I had to try it. This beer is one of my favorites, and although it may not sound good to you, you've got to give it a try.

It first hit the stores this season about three weeks ago. I tried to find it last week and it was all sold out in every store in the area...trust me I checked. Today I found it again and this time they've stocked the shelves. You can even find it in other areas of the stores they have so much.

Check out Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale. It's a holiday favorite and I hope it becomes a holiday tradition for you!

OPENING NIGHT!!!

Tonight is the night!!! Fear Factory 2006 kicks off in Roanoke and it should be the best one yet. The dry run last night was amazing. I mean...I don't want to build it up too much but you'll want to be there. There are some things in the haunted house that you have never seen before.

Tickets are $7 or $6 with the donation of a canned food item. Bring your friends and keep in mind that you'll want someone to hold on to. It's right past Fiji Island on Townside Rd off 419. See you there!!! For more info visit FearFactory2006.com

Guess Who's Back

Well, I guess he never really left. But it turns out that Joe Torre will be staying with the Yankees next year after a couple days of speculation that said otherwise. I was worried for a while there until tonight.

I feel like I grew up with Joe Torre leading the greatest team in baseball. In Fact this year was his eleventh year at the helm. He's the one that brought us to the World Series several times. He sits there with a concentrated look on his face in good and bad and that's why we Yankee fans love him so much. Hate the Yankees if you must but there is no reason for anyone to hate Torre. I personally love him and I just hope that when his day finally comes they throw Don Mattingly into the mix. Here's to eleven great seasons....and The 2007 World Series.

You Wouldn't Believe

This past weekend I had the opportunity to go see some the best racing ever. It's called the Bailey's 300 and it happens every year at Martinsville. There are four qualifying races where drivers are trying to get into the big 200 lap race...and then 40 some cars go at it with a top prize of 25 grand. It's a race for money not points so these guys didn't care what happened...they just wanted the cash.

Go see it next year if you have a chance. unfortunately I didn't bring my camera so all I have is this phone picture.

Wow

I won't say much. Just study this billboard long and hard. If you want to see it in person it's above the Jiffy Lube on 419.
