Idiot

The comment that I got on the last post I made said it all. "Anonymous said: Idiot!"

After a couple of conversations with the editors of Roanoke.com, the link to KisforKat.com will stay on their blog listing. Looking back, it probably wasn't a good idea to hijack the controls for their Victory Stadium camera for my own enjoyment. I should have called The Times and told them that their controls were right out in the open available for any crack-pot (like me) to use.

The Online Production Editor for the website was the first to react with a post on the blog...
"Patrick Beeson said...

Clever, but this isn't going to get you any love from The Roanoke Times, especially since your blog is linked from the blog index.

You should have at least sent an e-mail informing the appropriate party of the bad Webcam control placement."

True...And now I want to find out what you think! Harmless fun, or a damaging prank?

Flood Warning!!!

Roanoke was filled up with rain like New Orleans after a hurricane. OK...So maybe it wasn't at all like New Orleans after a hurricane, but we did have some minor flooding. And it seems that my wish for the Roanoke River to help the Victory Stadium demolition along came true!

The Roanoke Times was nice enough to post the controls for their webcam right on the internet so I was able to zoom in with the camera and get several great shots. By the way, is it illegal to mess with the Roanoke Times camera if the controls are not password protected at all? I mean I literally just stumbled upon the site with the zoom and pan controls on it and started using them. It was a shock that it actually worked. Since then, they've put passwords up so nobody else can touch it. Oh well...here are the pics!

Tumbling Down

People all across the valley watched today as Victory Stadium finally started coming down. They've been prepping the site for a week now and the wrecking ball is literally swinging. The Roanoke Times and Carilion have been nice enough to post a webcam documenting everything that's going on. For some, it's a tragedy...For me it's one of the best things that's ever happened for Roanoke. I can only wish that all of this rain brings the Roanoke River up enough to help the demolition along.

Here are some captures from the webcam. To see it live, go to Roanoke.com

LIVE WEBCAM!!!

Kisforkat.com is proud to announce our new live webcam. The cam will be active any time I'm making a new post (which I admit hasn't been to often anymore) and also any time I'm just surfing the web. Check back for updates. The webcam will update every five seconds so if you hit refresh and it doesn't change...that means I'm not online.

The webcam is over to the right.

A Great Feast!

I found out today that a friend of mine has too many Chipmunks on his land. He hired a trapper to catch the chipmunks in hopes that that person would release the pesky critters into the woods where they can dig holes to their hearts content. It turns out that if you release them into the wild they will die anyway.

This is where I step in! If the glorified mice will die anyway...Why not kill them and eat them?!?!? I've had Squirrel before and in doing some research it turns out that chipmunks taste just like squirrels...Just a little tougher.

I'm pretty low on money right now and this seems like a great solution to my money problems. I've only found one recipe online and I'm hoping you will help me out with some more!

Here's the recipe I've found. If you've got some other ideas just POST A COMMENT HERE.

3-4 chipmunks
Butter
2 Onions, sliced
3 Tbls vinegar
Pinch of thyme
Salt & pepper to taste
12 prunes
Corn starch & water to thicken pan juices

1. Clean 3-4 chipmunks & cut into serving pieces.
2. Brown in butter. Saute in onions.

5. Place into the oven @ 350 for 1 hour.
6. Put oven on 325 add prunes & bake 45 min longer.

Enjoy My Cat

Tippy, our cat, will sit like this forever. She looks like she's about to do a cannon ball into Smith Mountain Lake.

I swore on the Bible...

That I would never have a myspace account. Why would I need one, I thought, I've got my own website that I pay for...why take a stupid free one. Well...now almost everyone I know has Myspace accounts and I felt left out...until two days ago that is.

Now I've got my own Myspace site where you can see me half naked just like a 16 year old high school girl.

The Ring

No...Not the movie. I just remembered I never put pictures of the setup in our apartment when I proposed to Missy. It's only a couple of weeks later and I can't believe the things you have to do even a year before a wedding. All of the money issues and things to think about. It's stressful...But so much fun!

here are the pictures from the night I proposed...
