TAYLOR WINS!!!!!

The American Idol Finale just happened and if you missed it...sorry for being a spoiler. Taylor Hicks was the big winner and that meant I was the big winner on the K92 contest Meal or No Meal. Fox 21/27 did an interview with me at the Ntelos store downtown and then I was lucky enough to be live on the air with them durring the after AI news. If you missed that here are some pictures.

And by the way...my second interview with Danny and Zack prompted Natalie to make a comment about how we were not supposed to drink on this assignment.

P.S. I can't wait for Taylor's CD to come out.

Singleton's Wacky Video

The latest drama involving Jamey Singleton may be a non-story. Our beloved weatherman had his own MySpace account and website, but it looks like it's gone forever.

A recent article in the Roanoke Times talked about Jamey's site but was not critical of it. (CLICK HERE and scroll half way down) But after the story was put online with a link to Jamey's site, the account was made inactive.

The part that may have been a mistake by Singleton after his drug problems was a video showing him doing a "funny dance" as the Roanoke Times put it. I'm not going to say either way, and although the site was taken down...I've obtained a copy of the dance for you to view.

Where is Spring?

I hate to be a downer but what the heck is happening to spring this year??? It seems like in years past it was HOT at least a few times before now. I've been to the lake and it was nice. Yesterday was good and humid but by May we should be well into the 70s and 80s. Look at the forecast for the next week. We've even got some 50's in there!!!

Blogging for Life

It's come to my attention this week that there is a child in our area that needs some help. His name is Ian Herbst and he needs a life saving liver transplant.

Ian was born with a disease called Biliary Atresia. What that means is that he's got a blockage between his liver and his intestines. That results in his liver being totally ruined and the only thing that can save him is to do a quick operation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

To raise funds for Ian there are several events coming up, those are listed below. Also the organizers are collecting used cell phones. If you'd like to help call Michelle Hartz at 800.366.2682.

May 16, 2006 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm - Make & Take Stamp Event (Radford Rec Center)

May 20, 2006 from 7:00am to ? - Garage Sale (Central United Methodist Church, Radford)

June 30, 2006 - Golf Tournament sponsored by CCS (Auburn Hills, Radford)

Thanks

Summer is Here

Although the weather was pretty cold Saturday night the first lake party went off without a hitch. The Captain of BargeInn.net was ready to go and he reserved us a wonderful island with a perfect view of Smith Mountain. Beer, Friends, Fireworks and fun abounded...here are the pictures.

Here's the Captain trading the 2005 flag for the 2006 version.
Visit BargeInn.net to find out how you could win last year's flag.
