Taxes Rock

I was wondering the other day why everyone hates to do their taxes. Maybe it's just because I don't make much money so I get a big refund and it doesn't take me more than an hour. I understand why people don't like paying taxes out of their paycheck, but doing the work in January to get the refund is great.

Someday I'm sure I'll owe money to the IRS at the end of the year, but until then I look at the refund as free money, even though it's money the government took from me and now is giving it back.

Don't You Hate It When...

Weather ruins your plans? I was going to go squirrel hunting this morning but the rain put a damper on those plans.

I haven't gotten a single squirrel this season. That's pretty pathetic. It just seems like every time Craig and I go out it's really windy and we don't see a single one.

I'm really anxious to cook up some squirrel. If you have any recipes I'd love to hear them.

My God!

It's almost like I forgot about this site.

As you know I've been going through a lot of changes. So far so good. I sold my first phone today and things are looking up. The computer systems at work are a little complicated but I'm getting the hang of them. I have training again in Waynesboro on the 30th and 31st. I'm Looking foreword to networking and starting to rake in the cash.

If you need a cell phone call me. 540-293-4653

If You Get a Chance

Pick up a copy of the Roanoke Times today. They did a "Corner Shot" story of me in the Extra section. This is probably the last time I'll be in the news for a while. Enjoy the story here but there's probably a picture of me in the real paper.

Out The Door

As you may have heard on the radio this morning I've left my job at the radio station. Tomorrow is my last day and I want to take some time to write a little message to the people who have listened to the K92 Mornin' Thang over the past two years.

First to Danny and Zack.

I have enjoyed working with you over the past two years, and being friends with you for even longer. I can't tell you in words how much experience you've given me and I will be much better off in life because I was taught by the best. Please don't take me leaving as a sign that I did not enjoy my job. I love you both, yes, even you Zack and I can't thank you enough for everything you've both done for me.

To the listeners.

I've met some of you and I've spoken with even more. Some of you would even be considered close friends. I am going to miss talking to you on a daily basis more than I even know as I write this. You've opened your arms to me and welcomed me on to the show even when some of you didn't want another person to be thrown into your morning routine. There is nothing better in this world than to love somebody and I can truly say I love all of you.

Maybe someday I will get back into radio and though I know most of you will have forgotten about me by then, I will not forget all of the nice things you've done for me. The love you've shown me at events and the personal conversations on the phone I will always remember.

My time at this radio station has been the best experience of my life and I'm sad to leave, but in the same turn I know that I am making the right decision.

Visit me at Ntelos if you'd like to, shoot me an e-mail and I guarantee I will return it personally.

Thank you again for everything.

We All Saw This Coming

When I first heard about Marcus Vick being kicked off the Virginia Tech football team, I thought to myself, this is the beginning of the end. I figured he'd be involved in some stupid drunk driving incident, or maybe go on an all night drug binge and get caught. It turns out he may have taken it one step farther.

Marcus was arrested today after a seventeen year old said Vick pointed a gun at him and a group of friends. Well that's just great. I don't know a lot about the NFL draft, but if they would still consider a player who was kicked off of the college team and then got caught pointing a gun at some CHILDREN, there need to be some changes.

Is It Just Me?

or does Katie Holmes not look as pregnant as she did two or three months ago. I can't wait until it comes out that the whole relationship was for kicks and giggles...I mean publicity.

And by the way...she looks about 50 in this picture.

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you enjoyed yourself on New Years Eve. Missy and I went to the Natural Bridge Hotel for their New Years Eve party. They had a band and drinks and dancing. Did I mention the drinks?

Here are some pictures from Saturday night! Click to make them bigger.
